Chapter 8

8:1  And the men of Ephraim said unto him, Why hast thou served us thus, that thou calledst us not, when thou wentest to fight with the Midianites? And they did chide with him sharply.

Ephraim

Cf. Judges 12:1 ; 2 Samuel 2:8 ; 1 Kings 12:16 . Here begins that deep-rooted division in Israel which culminated in the division of Solomon's kingdom under Jeroboam and Rehoboam.
