The 16th Psalm is a prediction of the resurrection of the King. As a prophet David understood that, not at His first advent, but at some time subsequent to His death and resurrection Messiah would assume the Davidic throne. See Acts 2:25-31 ; Luke 1:32 Luke 1:33 ; Acts 15:13-17 . See "Davidic Covenant," (See Scofield "2 Samuel 7:14") ; "Kingdom (O.T.)," See Scofield " Zechariah 12:8 ".
See Psa 22., next in order of the Messianic Psalms.
