Chapter 16

16:1  The word of the LORD came also unto me, saying,

The sign of the unmarried prophet is interpreted by the context. The whole social life of Judah was about to be disrupted and cease from the land. But note the promises of verses Jeremiah 16:14-16 ; Jeremiah 17:7 Jeremiah 17:8 .

16:21  Therefore, behold, I will this once cause them to know, I will cause them to know mine hand and my might; and they shall know that my name is The LORD.
