10 : 1 Why, OLord, do you standfar away?Whydo you hide yourself intimes of trouble?
10 : 2 In arrogance the wicked hotly pursue the poor;let thembe caught in the schemes that they have devised.
10 : 3 For the wickedboasts of the desires of his soul,and the one greedy for gaincursesandrenounces theLord.
10 : 4 In the pride of his facethe wicked does notseek him;all his thoughts are,There is no God.
10 : 5 His ways prosper at all times;your judgments are on high,out of his sight;as for all his foes, hepuffs at them.
10 : 6 Hesays in his heart,I shall not be moved;throughout all generations Ishall not meet adversity.
10 : 7 His mouth is filled with cursing anddeceit andoppression;under his tongue aremischief andiniquity.
10 : 8 He sits in ambush in the villages;inhiding places he murders the innocent.His eyes stealthily watch for the helpless;
10 : 9 he lurks in ambush likea lion in histhicket;helurks that he may seize the poor;he seizes the poor when he draws him into hisnet.
10 : 10 The helpless are crushed, sink down,and fall by his might.
10 : 11 He says in his heart,God has forgotten,he hashidden his face, hewill never see it.
10 : 12 Arise, OLord; O God,lift up your hand;forget not the afflicted.
10 : 13 Why does the wickedrenounce Godand say in his heart,You will notcall to account?
10 : 14 But you do see, for younote mischief and vexation,that you may take it into your hands;to you the helplesscommits himself;you have beenthe helper of the fatherless.
10 : 15 Break the arm of the wicked and evildoer;call his wickedness to account till you find none.
10 : 16 TheLordis king forever and ever;thenations perish from his land.
10 : 17 OLord, you hear the desire of the afflicted;you willstrengthen their heart; you will incline your ear
10 : 18 todo justice to the fatherless andthe oppressed,so thatman who is of the earth may strike terror no more.
