Ephesians

2 : 1 And you weredead in the trespasses and sins
2 : 2 in which you once walked, following the course of this world, followingthe prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work inthe sons of disobedience&emdash;
2 : 3 among whom we all once lived inthe passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the bodyand the mind, andwere by naturechildren of wrath, like the rest of mankind.
2 : 4 ButGod, beingrich in mercy,because of the great love with which he loved us,
2 : 5 evenwhen we were dead in our trespasses,made us alive together with Christ&emdash;by grace you have been saved&emdash;
2 : 6 and raised us up with him andseated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,
2 : 7 so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurableriches of his grace inkindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
2 : 8 Forby grace you have been savedthrough faith. And this isnot your own doing;it is the gift of God,
2 : 9 not a result of works,so that no one may boast.
2 : 10 Forwe are his workmanship,created in Christ Jesusfor good works,which God prepared beforehand,that we should walk in them.
2 : 11 Therefore remember that at one time you Gentiles in the flesh, calledthe uncircumcisionby what is calledthe circumcision, which is made in the flesh by hands&emdash;
2 : 12 rememberthat you were at that time separated from Christ,alienated from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers tothe covenants of promise,having no hope and without God in the world.
2 : 13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once werefar off have been brought nearby the blood of Christ.
2 : 14 Forhe himself is our peace,who has made us both one and has broken downin his flesh the dividing wall of hostility
2 : 15 by abolishing the law of commandments expressed inordinances, that he might create in himself onenew man in place of the two, so making peace,
2 : 16 and mightreconcile us both to God in one body through the cross, thereby killing the hostility.
2 : 17 And he came andpreached peace to you who werefar off and peace to those who werenear.
2 : 18 Forthrough him we both haveaccess inone Spirit to the Father.
2 : 19 So then you are no longerstrangers and aliens,but you arefellow citizens with the saints andmembers of the household of God,
2 : 20 built on the foundation of theapostles and prophets,Christ Jesus himself beingthe cornerstone,
2 : 21 in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows intoa holy temple in the Lord.
2 : 22 In himyou also are being built togetherinto a dwelling place for God bythe Spirit.
